How to stay uplifted when life knocks you down

Some practical tips on how to stay positive during difficult times in life.

Bad news often comes in the night time and will often be on your mind for the whole day right?

Here are some useful tips that have helped me to stay positive during the difficult times that life throws at me.

  • Make an “I am grateful for…” book.
This is a book or some small postcards here you write on a weekly or daily basis is the key things you are grateful for in life. My entries for today are I am grateful for my health, faith, family and business driven mind and the power to love.” Review this book regularly and it will help you to stay encourage because you are focusing on the good things in your life.

  • Meet a good friend to talk and listen to you
Sometimes we just need to offload and get another person to look at our situation and tell us that it is OK and that we will get through it. Just someone to just listen to our problems can sometime solve the problem.

  • Have a good cry
There is nothing wrong in crying it actually helps you to release stress and you always feel a weight has been lifted off your shoulders once you have finished. Crying is not a sign of weakness, so go and grab a pack of tissues and have a good cry. There are so many benefits of crying.

  • Listen to positive music or a motivational speaker
  • Go for a thought walk
Changing your scenery or just walking and looking around can help you mind think things through and rationalise over any issues that are troubling you.

  • Get a good night’s sleep, eat well and exercise.

  • What did you learn?
Every experience, whether good or bad or life is to help you to learn from that experience so that you can teach others who will later go through the same thing.

Stay positive and remember you are still standing even when it all falls down.
